Mission

To enhance economic conditions within the Rockbridge area, in conjunction with the governing bodies of Lexington and Rockbridge, while maintaining the area s unique heritage and natural resources.

Goal Statements

GOAL 1  Promote the Rockbridge area as the center of quality within the Shenandoah Valley.

GOAL 2  Facilitate a continuing cooperative and effective economic development environment throughout the Rockbridge area.

GOAL 3  Support existing business and industry in their efforts to increase profitability and enhance sustainability.

GOAL 4  Encourage the continuous development of a diverse, properly trained, and committed workforce.

GOAL 5  Diversify and expand quality employment opportunities within the Rockbridge area.

GOAL 6  Maintain and enhance the quality rural environment and small town character of the Rockbridge area in order to attract quality business and industry growth.

GOAL 7  Expand the local tax base and increase the revenue producing capabilities of the Rockbridge area.
